A workshop to develop collaborative partnerships to address current challenges for space-related robotic remote manipulation & handling
This workshop will seek to develop collaborative partnerships to address current challenges for space-related robotic remote manipulation & handling using spotlight presentations & group discussions.
In space robotics is a nascent space market and one which is set to be highly disruptive both for commercial opportunities and space exploration. On earth, robotics for remote manipulation or handling is being developed for many applications including nuclear decommissioning, telesurgery or subsurface disposal.
To ensure that UK robotics for space applications (both in space and on earth) remains highly competitive, we need to address some industry inspired challenges linked to the management of persistent space assets, the collection and handling of planetary samples, or robotic activities for the Cis-Lunar economy.
This workshop invites those working in this area of robotics to give a 5 minute spotlight presentation of their work, followed by afternoon sessions to enable collaboration and discussions for future R&D.
The workshop will be held at Sensor City Liverpool on Friday 18th October 2019, lunch will be provided. For more information please click here
